Nkosi identified the IFP supporter who was killed as Siya Dlamini. Police comment could not be immediately obtained. “I was giving an interview when the e.tv journalist warned me and then I heard two shots,” said Nkosi. According to Nkosi, a National Freedom Party councillor in the eThekwini Municipality was then arrested and bundled into a police van. “Who will protect us if this happens right in front of the police?” Nkosi asked. The four men appearing in court were arrested last Friday in connection with the shooting of Cebisile Shezi, 31, on October 6. Shezi, who was wearing an IFP T-shirt, was shot dead near the Thembalihle train station in KwaMashu shortly after Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa addressed IFP supporters at a sports field near the hostels in KwaMashu. In a separate incident, a woman’s face was grazed by a bullet. She was taken to hospital by the police. The area has been tense since the abduction and killing of IFP councillor Themba Xulu by five men pretending to be police officers from the Pinetown police station. No one has been arrested in connection with his abduction and killing. Comment could not immediately be obtained from the NFP. Sowetan Live - - - COMMENTS BY SONNY What were the SAPS doing when this Inkatha Freedom Party member was shot in front of a Magistrates court today? Who is this councillor member of the National Freedom Party in the eThekwini Municipality? So, now, the IFP have two obvious oppositions. The ANC and the National Freedom Party. Or is the National Freedom Party just another branch of the ANC? Why is the ANC so passive towards these political murders? Only time will tell. KZN - President Zuma's stronghold.
