Johannesburg - A man and a woman were arrested on Thursday after Johannesburg police found stolen car parts, guns and counterfeit money in a Soweto house.

Numerous counterfeit bank notes, Botswana currency and police-issue bulletproof vests were found during the raid at the house in Protea North, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.

An engine from a car stolen in Soweto and parts from various cars were also found in the yard.

"We also found money that looked like it was damaged in an ATM bombing."

The two would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Funny that this is the same area where Sgt Du Toit was killed last week.

Protea North seems to be riddled with criminals!

What is the problem, it is within sight of the Protea Magistrates Court!

Protea North used to be a popular area for police members.
