Now Popcru lashes ANC

NONI MOKATI

JOHANNESBURG - Unions continue to demand respect from the ANC. The party this week faced a barrage of criticism after a newspaper report claimed that the ANC planned to charge Cosatu genera-secretary Zwelinzima Vavi. This came after Vavi accused President Jacob Zuma of not taking drastic action against corrupt ministers.
It was also reported that Vavi had written to ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe requesting an urgent meeting to discuss the pending disciplinary hearing against him.
Adding to the scathing statements already issued by fellow unions, Popcru yesterday said it viewed the ruling party’s intention to charge Vavi and working leaders in the Elijah Barayi, Vuyisile Mini and Leslie Massina movements as an attempt to instill fear in those challenging “narrow tendencies” meant to undermine trade unions.
Popcru national spokesman Norman Mampane said: “It is disingenuous of the ANC to have room for such intentions and forget the hardships, sacrifices and selflessness of workers of this country who worked hard in building a strong ANC.
“We must remember that while it is true that the ANC is a broad church which accommodates all classes, it still has a working-class bias.”
He said Popcru would join millions of Cosatu members and society in condemning any form of crass materialism, corruption and capitalist greed.

Proof that the ANC thinks they are the owners of corruption in SA.

There is only one way for them, it's not UP!
