Ngcobo’s qualifications misleading

No Fear No Favour No False CV's please.........

JOHANNESBURG – It’s with a huge sense of disappointment that acting Crime Intelligence boss Chris Ngcobo had to be suspended, National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega said on Tuesday.
Earlier, Eyewitness News revealed Ngcobo was removed with immediate effect.
In a statement released by Phiyega, she said the suspension related to Ngcobo misleading the department.
“During a vetting process, discrepancies were found between the declaration made by Major-General Chris Ngcobo and official records pertaining to his qualifications.”
Phiyega adds, “[He] has so far failed to satisfactorily explain the discrepancies. His top secret security clearance was therefore denied.”

She confirmed that Ngcobo could face criminal charges.

“I placed him on special leave yesterday [Monday] and instructed that criminal investigations and disciplinary action against him be initiated. I want to ensure that this matter is dealt with swiftly.”

Ncgobo was appointed to lead the unit after the controversy surrounding Richard Mdluli.

Phiyega says she is now taking a hard look at leadership in the police service.

She has appointed Bongiwe Zulu as acting head of crime intelligence and believes this will help stabilise the unit.
