CSA mum on performance bonus saga
13 August 2010, 16:08
Cricket South Africa (CSA) said on Friday they would not comment on bonuses paid to their employees until a review is completed by an independent audit committee.
"A review of the systems used to determine bonus payments, in respect of non-CSA activities, will get underway in September," CSA said in a statement.
"Until such time, CSA will not comment further, to ensure the process is upheld."
The remuneration committee of CSA called for a review after R4.7-million in performances bonuses was paid to more than 40 employees for hosting the Indian Premier League and ChampionsTrophy competitions which were held in South Africa last year.
More than R3.1-million of that money was split between CSA chief executive Gerald Majola and former chief operating officer Don McIntosh.
Majola has already agreed to repay the bonus he received in full until the matter is resolved.
Former chief justice Pius Langa will chair the review committee. - Sapa
