Krejcir hit: 'Discrepencies in evidence'

Krejcir claimed he was shot at on 24 July by what he said was a remote-controlled gun installed inside a car moments after he arrived at his Bedfordview office. A dozen-barreled gun was hidden behind the Volkswagen Cross Polo's rear number plate. Picture: Christa van der Walt/EWN.

JOHANNESBURG – The Director of Public Prosecutions is considering representations made by Brendan Harrison, the man accused of involvement in a plot to kill Czech businessman Radovan Krejcir.

Harrison briefly appeared in court in Germiston on Monday. He has been behind bars since August.

Krejcir survived a bizarre ‘James Bond-style’ attempt on his life earlier this year, when remote controlled shotguns opened fire on him from the number plate of a car in Bedfordview.

Police cordon off the scene where a VW Cross-Polo with guns installed behind its number plate was used in an attempted hit on Radovan Krejcir on 24 July 2013.

After viewing the docket, the defence made representations arguing that there are discrepancies in the evidence against Harrison.

It’s understood the state is relying on the evidence from Krejcir and his business manager Ivan Savov to bolster its case.

Harrison worked at Krejcir’s Money Point shop in Bedfordview.

He believes he will be killed if released on bail and is due back in court later this month.
